چکیده

In order to identify various explosives and their precursors, technicians worldwide rely on chemical analysis instruments for rapid specific identification results help ensure a safe remediation. This is one of the central tasks homeland security public safety personnel, especially since recent proliferation improvised explosive devices (IEDs). These that are being used in field, extremely important first responders. For this paper experiments made, FTIR spectrometer (Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy) was used. technique obtain an spectrum absorption or emission solid, liquid gas. A simultaneously collects high-resolution spectral data over wide range. They essentially identifying unknown chemicals range colors. Given fact does not generate energy during sampling process, makes it ideal verifying substances such as: Semtex, smokeless powders, dynamite, TNT hundreds other colored materials. Since contact required between sample instrument, we took extreme caution measures while analyzing these pressure sensitive substances. paper, determinations were made functional groups from series civil use, establish necessary steps developing method identification.

Forensic Identification of Explosives by Mass Spectrometry and Allied Techniques.

In forensic analysis of explosives, analytical methods are required that combine good separation characteristics with highly specific and sensitive detection. Two novel techniques, liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS) and tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) have such specifications. These are now well-established analytical techniques for separation and identification of mixtures and fo...

Identification of high explosives using single-particle aerosol mass spectrometry.

The application of single-particle aerosol mass spectrometry (SPAMS) to the real-time detection of micrometer-sized single particles of high explosives is described. Dual-polarity time-of-flight mass spectra from 1000 single particles each of 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT), 1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazinane (RDX), and pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN), as well as those of complex explosives, Compo...

Identification of volatile chemical signatures from plastic explosives by SPME-GC/MS and detection by ion mobility spectrometry.

This study demonstrates the use of solid-phase microextraction (SPME) to extract and pre-concentrate volatile signatures from static air above plastic explosive samples followed by detection using ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) optimized to detect the volatile, non-energetic components rather than the energetic materials. Currently, sample collection for detection by commercial IMS analyzers i...

Identification of explosives and explosive formulations using laser electrospray mass spectrometry.

Mass analysis is demonstrated for the detection of sub-microgram quantities of explosive samples on a metallic surface at atmospheric pressure using laser electrospray mass spectrometry (LEMS). A non-resonant femtosecond duration laser pulse vaporizes native samples for subsequent electrospray ionization and transfer into a time-of-flight mass spectrometer. LEMS was used to detect 2,3-dimethyl-...

Gas imaging by infrared gas-correlation spectrometry.

We describe a new method for visualization of gas flows based on infrared absorption and gas-correlation techniques. This result is a gray-scale or false color-coded image showing the distribution of a specific gas in the area studied. A sequence of images showing the workplace test setup with a turbulent flowing gas is presented.
